The Boy's Axe is an axe-type ranged weapon which deals damage and roots the victim on hit, and can be recalled for additional damage. This item is exclusive to the Rise of the Giant DLC.

Trivia

• Given the name and item description, this is probably a reference to God of War (2018).
  • The reference is that the main character Kratos keeps calling his son Atreus “Boy”, which has turned into a meme.
  • The axe's design and function are also reminiscent of Kratos’ Leviathan Axe in the God of War game, except it actually freezes enemies instead of simply rooting them in place.

1.2: Introduced. 2.1: Scaling changed from Brutality/ Tactics to Tactics/ Survival 2.4: Base DPS increased from 110 to 183. Breach bonus increased from 0 to 0.5. Base breach DPS increased from 12 to 128. 2.9: Unlock cost decreased from 100 cells to 40. 3.0: Nerfed Base DMG and added a Legendary Affix. Base DPS decreased from 183 to 159. Reduced the impact DMG from 70 to 50 Can no longer roll affix Extra Ammo. Can no longer be affected by ammo. Added the Legendary affix "Extra Ammo Few". 3.4: Ammo count is now affected by Ammo.
